Internship Program

At CHCS, we are committed to developing high-quality training and learning opportunities for students who wish to serve the community, integrate knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with professional practice, and challenge themselves to grow professionally and personally.

With the exception of identified and approved stipend programs, there are no benefits or pay associated with the student internships. All applicants must pass a criminal background check conducted pursuant to current regulations, and successfully complete all onboarding and training requirements in order to be approved to begin their internship.

 

If you do not see an internship that matches your discipline listed below, please email academiccoordinator@chcsbc.org and include the following information:

  1. University name and degree program
  2. Expected beginning and end dates 
  3. Availability or anticipated schedule
  4. Types of interactions or duties required by your university to receive credit
  5. Qualifications or credentials your supervisor must have
  6. Confirmation that there is or is not an existing Affiliation Agreement with you University and CHCS
  7. Student resume

Eligibility Requirements

You must be affiliated with an academic institution with an internship course or internship requirement for educational credit. If you are a student but your university does not require an internship, please visit our volunteer page.

In order to be approved for an internship your university must have an Affiliation Agreement in place with CHCS.

Please note if an agreement is not already in place, this process can take 4-6 months to complete.

If you are not sure if your school has an active Affiliation Agreement with CHCS, please contact your school coordinator or reach out to us at academiccoordinator@chcsbc.org.

To be considered for an internship, all students will need to complete the following paperwork and documents:

  1. CHCS Student Application
  2. CHCS Ethical Code of Conduct
  3. CHCS Release of Liability
  4. TB Test Results
  5. CPR Certification (If you are not certified, we offer low cost certification options)
  6. Updated Resume

Additional application materials may be requested depending on your discipline or program. Incomplete applications will not be considered for an interview.
