Integrated Primary Care Clinic, supervised by the Director of Psychology & Training in which medical and behavioral health providers work collectively using  the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) consultation model.

Mommies Program: Specialized Female IOP Substance Abuse Treatment

Mommies Program is an intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program open to pregnant women and mothers of minor children, including those seeking reunification with children in Texas Department of Family and Protective Services custody. Trauma-informed and gender-specific treatment targets mothers who are struggling with substance use and mental health disorders. Comprehensive case management assists in achieving stable recovery and preservation of the consumer’s family.

This internship experience takes place in a clinically rich, fast-paced Integrated Primary Care environment. This internship is based out of the CHCS Northwest Integrated Care Clinic and assists the Director of Psychology & Training, a licensed clinical psychologist.

Master of Social Work (MSW) Students

Outreach, Screening, Assessment, and Recovery (OSAR)

Service available to all individuals interested in information about substance use services. OSAR can be the starting point for individuals who want help accessing substance use services but are unsure where to begin. Hours also available in Street Outreach, Pregnant Parenting Intervention Program, and San Antonio Job Development program.

Opioid Addiction Treatment (OATS)

OATS is a CARF accredited and licensed outpatient narcotic treatment program for people addicted to opioids, such as prescription pain medications and heroin. Medication-assisted treatment is utilized along with counseling and other support.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)/ Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT)

Forensic assertive community treatment (FACT) is a service delivery model intended for individuals with serious mental illness who are involved with the criminal justice system. Team approach offering psychiatric medication management, psychosocial rehabilitation services, comprehensive support for individuals with frequent psychiatric hospitalizations and incarcerations.

POWER Program/Early Onset Psychosis Program

Coordinated Specialty Care services for Bexar County residents ages 15-30 years who are experiencing First Episode Psychosis. Program provides intensive, wrap-around services by a team of clinicians and peer support specialists.

Children’s Behavioral Health Services

The Outpatient Mental Health Services for Children and Adolescents is for Bexar County youth ages 3 – 17 with a DSM-V Diagnosis, and includes the following services: assessment, skills training, counseling, case management, medication training and support, psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring, caregiver training, and family partner support.

External Relations

The CHCS External Relations department encompasses external relations, marketing/communications, public relations, and advertising for key stakeholders. The team focuses on the ongoing development, implementation, and assessment of marketing brand strategies through internal and external communications, public relations, advertising, special event development and coordination, community outreach, legislative outreach, social media content development, and workforce engagement.

The Center for Health Care Services Foundation

The Center for Health Care Services (CHCS) Foundation is dedicated to securing the necessary financial resources that advance the capital, clinical, educational, and service delivery goals of CHCS, and to bring awareness and education around the topics of behavioral health and substance abuse. The CHCS Foundation has also recently expanded to provide Mental Health First Aid Training to the community, and function as a separate 501(C)(3), or non-profit entity, to help advance the support available for CHCS.

The Center’s Residential Detoxification Unit (Detox) is a licensed, accredited 28-bed facility offering medical oversight and recovery support for people withdrawing from addictive substances. Residencies are typically 3-7 days, but will vary depending on an individual patient’s symptoms.
