The Harvey E. Najim Family Foundation recently awarded The Center for Health Care Services Foundation a $50,000 gift for the development and implementation of Treehouse Learning Centers at two of CHCS’ Children’s Behavioral Health clinics. Treehouse Learning Centers provide a special place for school-aged children with behavioral health issues to address academic challenges. The Learning Centers provide a safe space where children can learn coping skills to help them manage anxiety and depressive symptoms at school, promoting improved classroom learning and reducing out-of-classroom time. Trained volunteers tutor children in math, reading and science, and Certified Family Partners provide supportive parenting strategies to parents and caregivers.
This generous donation marks the second gift the Najim Family Foundation has awarded The CHCS Foundation in the past two years. The previous gift provided a Multi-Sensory Room for children ages 3-17.
